Summer Senior Camp: The Addams Family
Remember, once you enroll, you're in! Auditions are for our production team to decide who best fits the characters in the show. So come prepared, but don't feel any pressure. We'll put on the best show AND have tons of fun!
Important Intro
Thank you for registering for Melody Musical Theater's production of The Addams Family! Below you will find audition and callback information.
Auditions will be held Sunday, May 19th from 4:45-6:30 at Melody Musical Theater. Please arrive for your auditions and check-in at least 10 minutes early. Alternate audition date: May 18th, 4:00-4:30pm.
You will be taught the dance portion for auditions. All students auditioning must participate.
-
Please wear comfortable clothing that does not limit movement. No slippers, flipflops, or bare feet.
-
Tennis shoes, or dance shoes are preferred.
-
Remember during this portion of the audition, we are looking to see if you tell the story through your dancing, not if you are the world’s greatest dancer! We are spending as much time noting your attitude and willingness to try and learn something new that may be out of your comfort zone as we are looking at pointed toes and smooth moves.
Audition Materials
All audition material can be found below.

PRACTICE THESE SONGS AND SIDES!

The Director suggests everyone learn the Ancestors (Ensemble) vocal cut and pick 2-3 other Character vocal cuts to learn as well.
Scenes (Sides)
Prepare to read for any role you would like. But also be prepared and ready for other characters the Director might ask you to read for.
We are open to casting outside of your identified gender – truthfully some of our best casting does not follow gender lines but tries to fit the student in the role that is best for their abilities and personality.
What to bring
Printed song lyrics, printed scenes, bottle of water, & a great attitude!
Callbacks will be held as needed.
You may be asked to dance again, you may be asked to do cold reads from the script.
If you are not asked to come back for callbacks – it just means we already know what role we want you to play.
Thank you for registering and we can't WAIT to see you at Auditions!
Sincerely,
The Addams Family Production Team
